Designed a modular, machinable alternative to Sumitomo’s cast vertical bases using normalized 4140 steel, reducing costs and improving manufacturing feasibility via CAD modeling and prototyping.
Conducted FEA simulations for stress and fatigue analysis, validating a maximum deformation of 0.103 mm for the modular base and 0.0002 mm for the shaft, ensuring compliance with industry tolerances.
